Manager changelog
#1.3.4 - 2026-10-14
- Mac Utils is now called Manager: the app, its page and its documentation. Old links lead to the new ones.
- The command-line tool is now manager; if you had installed macutils, install it again in Settings › Command Line.
- Settings, profiles, triggers, the helper and the permissions stay as they were; profiles exported from Mac Utils still import.
- The sibling apps go by their new names: Workspace and Network.
#1.3.3 - 2026-10-13
- With more than one of the Mac apps open, their windows stack as one: pick Compact, Full Bars, Accordion or Separate Windows in the app menu › Stack Windows
- One page open at a time across the stack: opening a tab in one app folds the other's
- Search also finds what the other installed apps have, and opens it in its app
- About shows the other Mac apps, with Open or Get It
#1.3.2 - 2026-10-13
- The menu bar icon opens a panel instead of a menu: what you change all day, one click away
- Each display's brightness and resolution, with True Tone, HDR and Extra Bright where the display has them
- Quick switches: Dark Mode, Night Shift, Hide Desktop, Hide Dock, Hidden Files, Low Power, Stage Manager and Reduce Motion
- Keep Awake for 15 minutes to forever with the time left, the battery's charge limit, Bluetooth devices to connect, profiles, window layouts and everyday actions
- New setting: Dark Mode, in Interface › Appearance
#1.3.1 - 2026-10-13
- Every button now has a tooltip that says what it does
- Text across the app uses plain hyphens
#1.3 - 2026-10-13
- Search on the bar (⌘F): one field over every setting, action and page in the app; a result opens its tab and lights the setting (replaces the Dashboard search)
- The window opens with just the bar, every tab closed
- Report a Bug… is now also in the app menu, under Check for Updates…
- A fuller bug report form: kind, how often, steps to reproduce and what you expected
#1.2.2 - 2026-10-13
- ⌘ + § switches windows like ⌘ +
(⌘ + ⇧ + § goes back), for keyboards that type § where should be. In Hardware › Key Remapping.

- Documentation in the app menu, below About: opens the full documentation on leonardoaguiar.com
#1.2 - 2026-10-12
- A button on the bar, right of the "i", checks for updates and lights up while a new version is waiting
- Checking for updates is on from the start
- New Help menu: the documentation on leonardoaguiar.com, the changelog and Report a Bug
- Report a Bug: send a report with screenshots or logs from the app, and follow its status and replies under Your Reports
- Changelog inside the app, with every version and what changed
- Anonymous usage statistics, on by default; Settings › Send anonymous usage statistics turns them off
- The app menu has only About, Check for Updates and Quit; ⌘, still opens Settings
#1.1.12 - 2026-10-10
- The Applying bar no longer stays on screen after a change goes through.
- The System tab reads faster: reading Wi-Fi no longer holds up the other panels.
#1.1.11 - 2026-10-07
- The Allow… button asks macOS for Accessibility, which puts Manager on the list if it isn't there, besides opening the Accessibility pane.
#1.1.10 - 2026-10-07
- New setting: Window corner radius, in Interface › Windows, with its preview.
- Each tab's search also lists the matches in the other tabs, and every search finds the settings inside panels (Caps Lock, Key Remapping and others).
- Caps Lock on double tap: with ⌘, ⌥, ⌃ or ⇧ held, Caps Lock types its key at once and repeats it (⌘ + Caps Lock works as ⌘Tab).
- When a feature needs Accessibility, Manager asks macOS for it and opens the place to allow it; the rows that need it show the warning with Allow….
#1.1.7 - 2026-10-07
- New Caps Lock option, Caps Lock on double tap: a single tap types another key (Tab, Esc, Return, Delete, Space or nothing) and a double tap turns Caps Lock on or off.
- The double-tap window and what Caps Lock does while held (nothing, Control or Hyper) can be set in the panel.
#1.1.6 - 2026-10-06
- Changes apply to the Mac as they are made, without a pending list or an Apply button; a slider applies when it is let go, and changes made in a row go in one batch.
- Manager is a regular app in the Dock and ⌘Tab; closing the window (X or ⌘W) quits it, like ⌘Q.
- Optional menu bar icon, off by default, with a menu of the switches, choices and actions you pick in Settings › Menu Bar. While it is on, closing the window keeps Manager running in the menu bar.
- Launch at login is no longer turned on by itself on first launch.
- macutils: set and reset apply right away; the pending, apply and discard commands were removed.
- The installer's screens are also in Portuguese.
- License 1.1: states that the app checks for and installs its own updates.
- The update notice no longer takes the focus when Manager lives in the menu bar only.
#1.1.2 - 2026-10-02
- First public release.
- Nine tabs: Dashboard, Finder, Desktop, Interface, Hardware, System, Apps, Tools and Settings; each group of a tab opens its own page, and About opens from the i button and the app menu.
- A menu bar app: its icon opens the window.
- Every setting reads its value from the Mac; changes wait in a list, are reviewed and go to the Mac with Apply. Actions run for real and report what they did, with their output.
- A live preview beside each setting and action, drawn from the value chosen.
- Admin changes in one batch with one password prompt, or none with the optional helper.
- Finder, Dock, Mission Control, Spaces, interface, typing, menu bar clock, sounds and screenshot settings.
- Hot corners with a key to hold, window snapping shortcuts, window layouts restored when displays reconnect, macOS tiling and Stage Manager settings, wallpaper per display, rotation and solid color.
- Displays with resolution, refresh rate, HiDPI, DDC (brightness, contrast, volume, input), HDR, True Tone, extra XDR brightness, Night Shift, a virtual display and a floating mirror window.

- Battery charge limit with sailing mode, heat protection and guided calibration; Keep Awake; power and pmset settings; Bluetooth devices; drives and local snapshots.
- System: login window, security, app permissions, launch and background items, sharing, computer name, per-app appearance, Spotlight per volume, Time Machine, network tests, DNS with presets and DNS over HTTPS, the hosts file, Wi-Fi networks, SMB and TCP settings, hidden utilities.
- Apps: default apps, custom menu shortcuts, settings for Safari, Mail, TextEdit, Terminal, Activity Monitor and other Apple apps, Software Update, listening ports, Homebrew services and developer cleanup.
- Tools: cleanup with measured sizes, an uninstaller that finds an app's leftovers, disk checks, maintenance routines, rebuilds, a bootable installer, profiles, triggers and schedules.
- Dashboard with search across every setting, status, live instruments, storage, telemetry, quick actions, profiles and the change log.
- The macutils command-line tool, with the same settings, ids and engine.
- Launch at login and automatic updates.
